Kids Pot and Plant Day

Spring is a great time to introduce the kids to nature and our Kids Pot and Plant Day is a fantastic way to do it.

The children will learn about the importance of planting trees and keeping nature alive with various activities tailored for the K-7 age range.

Participants create and decorate their own plaque to display with a tree they plant on the day. The trees will be from selected species as food stock for Koalas in the Southern Tablelands. The plantings will contribute to our Koala program, research and future bush, care planting programs.

The children are encouraged to bring something that represents nature to them, to be buried in a time capsule. Everyone will be invited back in 10 years to open the capsule, remember the experience of the day and see how their tree's have grown.

The day includes learning about the importance of plants, an opportunity to feed the animals, tour the wildlife sanctuary, lunch in our picnic area and enjoy some games.

Finally, everyone will take home their own seed samples to continue the experience and contribute to your own home gardening.
